Trinity College Dublin was found in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I. The oldest university in Ireland, and one of the old universities in Western Europe, it was recently ranked in the top 100 universities in the world and among the top 50 universities in Europe by the Times Higher Education Supplement university league tables.

 

One of Ireland’s most popular tourist attractions (Home to the Book of Kells), Trinity College is located on a forty-acre campus in the heart of Dublin, a major European capital city.

 

 

 

Trinity’s Library is the largest research library in Ireland and one of the largest libraries in Europe. It contains approximately 4.5 million volumes, and an extensive collection of manuscripts; the most famous being the Book of Kells. The Old Library, with its Long Room, receives 500,000 visitors each year.

 

 

Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin, has a long tradition of welcoming international students. An education at Trinity’s diverse and multicultural campus provides students with excellent opportunities to develop their career. Upon successful completion of an undergraduate program at Trinity, students have the possibility to stay in Ireland to work for one year on the Graduate Scheme Visa. This allows students to gain unrivaled work experience opportunities in Ireland in a wide range of industries and organizations.

 

Full time non-EU students are allowed to work 20 hours per week during term time and 40 hours per week outside term.

Admissions – Trinity International Foundation Programme

Apply from 1st November to 31st July (Application Fee Euro 55)

General Academic requirements:

  • Maw 6 completion with overall GPA 3.0 (70%), and with a 70% minimum in math.
  • Maw 5 completion with overall GPA 3.5 (80%), and with a 80% minimum in math.

General English language requirements:

  • IELTS 5.0 overall, no band below 4.5 and 5.0 in writing
  • TOEFL: for 64 with 16 in the writing band

English language requirements for Law, Pharmacy and Psychology:

  • IELTS 6.0 overall, no band below 5.5
  • TOEFL: for 72 with 20 in the writing band

Admissions – Undergraduate Degrees

  • All students must have studied English, math and another language.

International Baccalaureate:

  • Three subjects at Grade 5 at HL
  • Three subjects at Grade 4 at SL
  • English language: Grade 4 at SL
  • 32 to 40 points, depending on course.

A-levels:

  • 4 A2 or best 3 A2 plus one AS
  • English language: GCSE grade C

American Curriculum

  • GPA 3.3
  • SAT 1290 or ACT 29

Admissions – Postgraduate Degrees

Academic requirements:

  • GPA 3.3 from a well ranked institution
  • Some courses may require higher standards or require you to take further tests or attend an interview

English language:

  • IELTS 6.5 overall, no band below 6.0
  • TOEFL 90, with written score of 21
