Brighton Secondary College

Brighton Secondary College # 00861K is a Year 7 to 12 co-educational government secondary collage, located int he City of Bayside, Brighton East, Victoria, Australia. The college was established in 1955 as named Brighton High School until 1988. Currently, over 1,200 Australian and International students are enrolled at the collage.

PERSONAL EXCELLENCE PROGRAM (PEP)

At the college, PEP Program provides students with the opportunity to develop skills to achieve academic performance, build respectful relationships and consider pathways after schooling. The program is delivered across each year level so that content is targeted and relevant. The goals of the program are improving students’ wellbeing, students’ engagement though developing social inclusion and to provide opportunities for students voice. This program is also develop student pathways so that all students have meaningful plans for post school destinations.

SEAL Program 

The Select Entry Accelerated Program (SEAL) is to provide educational experiences of an appropriate type and quality for that group of children identified through the selection procedures as having exceptional academic ability. These students are capable of high academic performance and will benefit from an accelerated and enriched learning program. This program differs from the mainstream program by providing: a faster paced curriculum which is non-repetitive with opportunities to work with more abstract, complex and in-depth course material. SEAL learning environments emphasis working co-operatively with students of similar abilities and interests. The SEAL Program also provides the option for early commencement of VCE studies as well as Higher Education studies in their final year.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAM

Brighton Secondary College welcomes students start from Year 7 to Year 12 from many different cultures and backgrounds and recognizes and values the contribution international students make to the life of the school. The College has a first rate educational program for its international students, attracting a large number of students from countries including China, Japan, Germany, South Africa, and Italy.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE CENTRE
An English Language Centre operates on site to cater for our International students. We offer a tailored course to suit the needs of students entering VCE through our Pre VCE program and small EAL classes at all levels.

HOMESTAYS & SUPPORT SERVICES
Accommodation is found for all international students with families in the Bayside areas close to the college. All families are chosen by the college and keeping in close contact with the students at their homestay. The College has a dedicated team who assists international students with their orientation process. The College recognise that international students have differing needs and require support to enable them to be settled and happy. The College also creates a safe and harmonious environment for the students who come from a wide array of countries through its management of student discipline and welfare.
