Victoria University # 00124K,  the university of the West of Melbourne. It is a direct descendant of Footscray Technical School , which first opened its doors to students in February 1916. It was intended by local businesses and community to offer students an education that would fit them for a role in the skilled workforce and raise students out of the ranks of unskilled laborers.

With over 100 years, Victoria University has proudly focused on creating education and training opportunities for students in the West of Melbourne and beyond.

Today in 2018, Victoria University was ranked in the top 2% of Universities Worldwide, Times Higher Education World University Ranking. The ranking is a list of the best universities globally and is the only international performance ranking to evaluate universities across their core missions of teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

With other fields of studying at Victoria University, Engineering and Computer Science are also ranked among the state’s best in the 2018 World University Subject Ranking by Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Beside this, The Academic Ranking of World Universities also ranked Victoria University in the world’s top 25 places to study Sport Science and No.35 in the world for Hospitality and Tourism Management research.

Studying at Victoria University, the Vocational education program (often referred to as TAFE) produce industry focused, work – ready graduated with a wide range of national vocational education and training qualification, while the undergraduate degrees prepare students for careers in the private, public and not for profit sectors across a wide range of subject areas.

With eight campuses in Melbourne and one in Sydney. Three of Melbourne Campuses are located in the central business district (CBD) and a further two are within 10 kilometers (around 12 minutes by traing) of the city center, enabling students to easily enjoy all that Melbourne has to offer.
